Quick overview
BMad (Breakthrough Method of Agile AI Driven Development) is a 4-phase framework that structures AI-driven software projects into Analysis, Planning, Solutioning, and Implementation. Each phase produces documents (PRD, architecture, stories) that feed into the next. Commands run through Claude Code to automate the full development lifecycle.
Enforces a phased, document-driven process that catches misalignment between intent and implementation before code is written, rather than after.
Common tasks
- Breaking a product idea into sprint-ready user stories
- Generating architecture docs before writing a line of code
- Running an implementation readiness gate check before a sprint
- Recovering a partially completed workflow after a Claude Code crash
- Linking generated stories to project management tasks with traceability refs
